"Tears, tears , tears! Tears of relief, tears of desperation, tears of madness, of hatred, of misfortune, tears of joy, salvation and lots of laughter. You'll stand to your feet clapping because God came through!!!" - Stella Olivier.

"Net gister jou boek klaar gelees.

Ek dink hierdie boek gaan n fenominale invloed he in mense se lewens.

- Ida Lees

"I liked the metaphorical, poetical and lyrical style in which Unwrapping Lazarus has been written. Your subjective stream of consciousness certainly drew me into your inner world where so much pain used to live.
Some parts were a bit too graphic for my sensitive constitution and I don't think the book would be suitable for teenagers.
The part about Jesus Sandals was very touching and I really laughed a lot over the sewing machine story." - Cobie Smit

"What I loved about reading your book is the snapshot-style in which you chose to do it, making it easy and spellbinding to read. I found your writing style to have a wonderful rhythm to it.
You certainly have interpreted the events of your life through your own belief-system as a Christian, and I am sure that some people will find that offensive, thus excluding them from your group of readers. But I believe that this book will be an inspiration to many people who have to deal with life's many challenges. Loved the book dude!" - Koos Franck

"Unwrapping Lazarus is a must read for every person on this planet. What makes this book so exceptional is that it is written by a man who has had real struggles and difficulties in his life and God carried him through it all. It is the most inspirational book that I have ever read. I want to thank Frans for writing this book and for being so open and honest about his brokenness because it has given me the courage to face my own brokenness. Lastly, I want to thank my Heavenly Father the restoration that He has brought about in my life!"
- Lynette Viljoen

A Journey of Recovery from Sexual Brokeness
"What I liked most about your book was
your honesty and openness about your life
and especially your journey as a Christian. When we are born-again we expect everything to be easy with no hardship and we do not always realize that sanctification is a long, difficult process which starts with our commitment to Jesus Christ. What stood out the most to me is that nobody is too sinful or too broken to be cleansed and / or healed and that God is faithful to do what He said he would do.
The account of Lazarus' death and resurrection gave me a big picture as a framework, making it easy and cohesive for me to follow the story of your life.
This book is a must for the gay person with questions who desires to come out of the lifestyle. No person living in our sinful world with imperfect people can honestly say that he / she has come through life without any negative life events, issues or hurts. We all need to hear about and experience the healing power of Jesus Christ." - Anonymous

"I loved reading Unwrapping Lazarus. Especially the part where you placed the woman whom Jesus encountered at the well in a modern day setting.
Your style of writing, snippets of humour, the sadness, your honesty, the manner in which you invite the reader to share the good and bad experiences of your life, your integrity and your passion for your Lord, has made a deep impact on me.

Once I started reading I simply could not put down the book. I felt as if I was part of your journey, feeling your anguish and sharing your triumphs. I can only say that the book filled me emotionally and moved me emotionally.
It made me aware that we must persevere in the race marked out for us, and that through our lives there are three components; prayer, planning and perseverance.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone, believers or not, to reaffirm their faith or to introduce people to the Living God.
In these modern times where we can be so busy, it is wonderful to once again realize that Jesus is in the business of fixing that which is broken. He frees us from the burden of past pain and failure. As he did with the woman at the well, he sees our past weakness and our inadequacy and gives us something wonderful, a fresh start.

Through this book you have given us an opportunity to realize we can start anew, not to allow parental failures, past abuse, childhood neglect or any other painful issues to dominate our attention, but to accept the opportunities Jesus gives us to break free from the negative and begin afresh." - Carol

Jou boek was regtig vir my disturbingly good.

I guess that's probably what you were aiming for) and revealed a few of my own concrete blocks that I'm hiding and that was the disturbing part for me! But it was so inspiring, reading about the amazing work God has done in your life, seeing the fruit of your ministry now, and it gave me hope again, that someday, hopefully soon, I will experience that same freedom and overwhelming joy.

- Mia
